Quantitative Mineralogy Workshop

MLA – An Introduction

Cost: Free of charge.

Includes: The workshop informal hands-on taught with PowerPoint projection slides along side practical demonstrations using the MLA instrument in order to facilitate understanding of the topic. Participants are invited to bring laptops so they can follow and practice data presentation exercises using MLA software on their own computers. Each participant will receive a printed copy of the workshop notes as well as a CD containing example data and images along with the MLA data presentation software.

Number of participants per short course: 3 (min) – 12 (max).

Short Course 4
Introduction to mineralogical image analysis: from 2D to 3D

Applied Mineralogy – An Introduction to Analytical Methods and Applications

An Introduction to QEMSCAN and applications of Automated Mineralogy

Cost: Free of charge.

Includes: This workshop is designed to provide participants with a basic understanding of the concept of automated mineralogy with its applications to the mining industry, and new and emerging fields. The course will focus on the QEMSCAN method, and will start at sample preparation through to QEMSCAN analysis, to interpretation and finally implementation and application of results.

This short course will use PowerPoint, with some tutorial style hands on sessions, and other system based examples throughout. The course will be run at the Intellection Customer Centre with immediate access to all necessary equipment.

Number of participants: This course requires a minumum of 10 participants.
Should interest be sufficent, additional courses could be scheduled for the morning of Sunday 7 September.
